Minimizing
Two days ago, I read "I Was Here But I" by Wesley Brown (Breaking Ice-page 87). This short story talks about Tyrone, and what he discover about his life and those around him. A particular message in the reading stuck my attention, and it was "YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT" (page 95). Sure, we all had heard of this phrase before once in our life, but in this story the message was a bit different. Which was to actually prove a point. There are foods we can actually live without, just as there are opinions towards us that we can live without it too. This brings me to the phrase "CARES AND WORRIES ARE EXPENDABLES and MINIMALISM IS THE ABSENCE OF WHAT YOU NEVER THOUGHT YOU COULD LIVE WITHOUT" (page 98). Doesn't this message sounds similar to the previous one about eating? Why is this important? Because people's actions and opinions of us can only hurt us as long as we give them the power to hurt us. There are things in life that we can actually live without.
